Introduction
Nowadays, among the different challenges and changes that globalization has brought, there is the need to speak a foreign language, especially the standard language that is English. Knowing and using this language is not an option, but rather a requirement that contributes to the integral formation and profile of any professional. The existence of bilingual and bicultural groups is not uncommon in modern society, since nowadays we speak of linguistic diversity as an expression of cultural diversity.
It is important to understand bilingualism, not simply as an individual's ability to use two languages, but as an ability that combines languages by an individual, but as a capacity in which different facets of the human being are combined. different facets of the human being. The fact of knowing and using two or more languages influences the conception influences one's conception of the surrounding universe and helps to build one's own identity. Grosjean (2013) claims that the bilingual is a fully competent speaker-listener; he/she has developed skills ... to the extent required by his/her needs and those of the context ... Levels of fluency in the language will depend on the need for that language.
This is directly related to culture and society; this implies that to be bicultural is to handle linguistic skills of two different languages, to coexist in two different communities, to see reality from different perspectives.
